Lenten Taizé Prayer Around the Cross
During the upcoming Lenten season, the Crosier Fathers and Brothers in Onamia will share this spirituality by offering a service of Taizé Prayer Around the Cross. The prayer format each week will be in the style of Taizé prayer, using very simple and repetitive music to help those gathered meditate on the Cross of Jesus Christ. This prayer is one way of expressing our communion with the crucified Christ, with people who suffer and are in need of healing, and with all those who gather. The Crosiers will offer a ritual blessing with the relic of St. Odilia at the conclusion of the prayer each week. Please join the Crosier Community of Onamia at the Cathedral of St. Mary in St. Cloud, Minnesota, on March 8, 15, 22, 29 and April 5. The prayer will begin at 7 p.m. last for about one hour. All are welcome!

You are invited to join the Crosiers in Onamia for Lenten Vespers at 5 p.m. on March 10, 17, 24, 31 and April 7 at Holy Cross Parish and National Shrine of St. Odilia. This sung celebration of the Liturgy of the Hours lasts about 30 minutes. The Crosier Community would be honored to pray for your personal prayer intentions, which you can submit to them here.

The Associates of the Crosier Priory of Onamia are Christian women and men rooted in their baptismal commitment. They dedicate themselves to creating a community intent on God that experiences the timeless treasures of hope, joy, and new life by embracing the cross.

They will accomplish this vision by
• living the values of community, prayer, and service inspired by the spirituality and heritage of the Canons Regular of the Order of the Holy Cross (Crosiers) and
• keeping the Gospel alive and prophetically proclaimed to the contemporary Church and world.

Their efforts together are motivated by
• the Gospel, the Rule of St. Augustine, and other vital Crosier traditions;
• the values of respect and mutual support as sisters and brothers in the crucified and risen Lord; and
• genuine hospitality for all people as temples of God.

Crosier Associates seek to
• embody/embrace the charism of the Crosier way of life in their daily lives;
• pray the Scriptures, especially the Church’s morning and evening prayer;
• nurture communal spirit and participate regularly in group activities;
• be people of healing, hope, and hospitality, especially for the poor, suffering, and neglected;
• participate in spiritual-growth events and ministries;
• be people intent on God in our secular society; and
• foster equality and unity.
