Statement Regarding Notice of Claims served on the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis

12-FEB-2015 (Phoenix, Arizona) -- On Feb. 11, the Crosiers received Notices of Claims served on the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis regarding clergy accused of sexual abuse of minors. The list included the name of deceased Crosier Jerome Plourde. 

Jerome Plourde had an assignment to serve at Our Lady of the Lake Seminary in Wawasee, Indiana (1959–1960); the Catholic Community of St. Odilia in Shoreview, Minnesota (1960–1969); the Crosier House of Studies in Ft. Wayne, Indiana (1969–1974) and the Crosier Community of New Rochelle, New York (1974–1977). He departed from the Order in 1977, at the end of his term as prior. Jerome Plourde died Oct. 23, 1984.
The Crosiers take any claim of abuse by any Crosier, staff person or volunteer associated with them seriously and remain vigilant to ensure accountability and the safety of the people they serve. 
The Crosiers do not tolerate any forms of sexual abuse and have stringent policies and actions of accountability in place to prevent future abuse. They are committed to their efforts toward transparency.
